All students have the opportunity to grow through school sponsored programs outside of the typical school day. Salem participates in an athletic league of Lutheran schools in the Twin Cities area. Students in grades 5-8 are able to compete in organized team sports. Upper grade students also participate in additional sports with students from other Lutheran grade schools through St. Croix Lutheran High School. Recently, Salem students have joined St. Croix for football, wrestling, and baseball.
