Faith Builders
At the core of the Confessional Lutheran teaching rests the belief that the words of the bible are the inspired words of God. The apostle Peter writes: “Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit (2 Pet 1:20-21).” This is why after every scripture reading on Sunday the pastor says “The word of the Lord!” or “The gospel of the Lord!” And we say, “Thanks be to God!”
Thanks be to God that his gospel is given to us in freedom, that everyone can understand who we are, who God is, and how we are connected through scripture alone. At Salem we offer visitors and members alike the same encouragement Paul offered the next generation of believers through his letter to Timothy: “But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the people of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Tim 3:14-17).” Following the same pattern, we teach and preach the bible and its truths three times a year in a recurring Bible Study called Faith Builders. Gather with your friends or complete strangers and embark on a biblical journey led by a pastor through the truths of scripture by using scripture to become wise for salvation. Sunday Bible Hour
When Paul was raising up the next generation of Gospel workmen, he instructed Timothy that, “The Lord’s servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful (2 Tim 2:24).” Salem’s pastors emphasize the importance of teaching the bible by pursuing excellence in their Sunday morning Bible Study. Adults are invited to learn and discuss collectively, engaging the teachings of the bible with the goal of deepening their understanding of the benefits of the death and resurrection of Christ.
Children ages preschool and up are invited to learn from the many talented Sunday School teachers the truths of the bible in song and activity through the Jesus and Me (JAM) program offered the same time as adult bible study.

Growth Groups
Growth Groups at Salem provide a way to get to know your faith family while growing closer to Jesus.
Groups consist of 8-12 people who meet 2-4 times per month to dig deeper into the sermon text, pray together, study God’s Word, and discuss how it applies to life.
