I Will Not Leave You

Genesis 28:15 I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”
John 14:18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

An Old Testament promise from the great I AM at the top of Jacob's ladder. A New Testament promise from the great I AM as he washes his disciples' feet and prepares them for his death. A promise that belongs to us right now. The great I AM has not forgotten us. We need his reassurance that he won't leave us as orphans. He promises to come to us.

He comes sooner to some, and calls them home to heaven. He will come later, too, just as he promised. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead. Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!
